Martin Emschermann

In 1990 Martin Emschermann moved to Italy, first to Perugia, to study at the University for foreigners and then to Carrara where he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in the Sculpture section.

In the following years he began to make his first solo and group exhibitions.

In Pontremoli, Carrara, Portoferraio, Bocca di Magra. In this period he worked on the “horse and rider” theme in different materials such as terracotta, bronze and stone.

In 1995 he participated in the First International Symposium of Elba.

He began to work on graffiti in cities, on child design, with psychiatric patients and other existences on the margins of society.

On these themes other exhibitions take place in Italy and Germany: in Pietrasanta, in Milan, in Frankfurt.

Continuing his journey to the south, the work ends with the Trojan horse for a playground in Grosseto and participates in the XXVI Biennial of Alatri.

In 1997 he moved to Palermo where he now lives and works on themes that are closely related to the new environment.

Participates in the International Symposium of Senday, in Japan.
