Presentation of the book “Anime Slave. Little female saga in bittersweet sauce” by Tessa Rosenfeld.
A beautiful and damned mother, a Muscovite grandmother, a crushed little girl who does not succumb. And then he, an unscrupulous Sicilian baron, nicknamed “the Rat”. Tossed between Beverly Hill’s, Rome and Cap Ferrat, the frantic wandering of the three heats up in a crescendo of grudges, accusations and fake reconciliations. A small female saga in a desperate search for a balance that collapses at every step, because as the family mantra says: “We are not like the others, we are different, we are Slavic souls!” The pilgrimage of the three women represents the metaphor of their inner journey and of the relationship that holds them together, conditioned by many factors, including cultural ones. A profound novel, sometimes ironic, where the cosmopolitan dimension becomes the narrative figure that defines the protagonists and makes the story current and a stimulus to reflect on ourselves and on the world around us.
Tessa Rosenfeld was born in Santa Monica to an American father and an Italian-Russian mother. Her first novel Scratch of her was also published for Linea editions (2021). She lives in Salento with her husband, Fabio Calenda, and her beloved dogs.
